The
Technical Services Department covers the area between regular utility men and
outside contractors. Specific responsibilities include three main areas: plumbing,
including sanitary and storm sewers, domestic water pipes, standpipe repairs and
dual temperature lines in the buildings; and emergency repairs underground.
Electrical responsibilities include maintaining and repairing all light
poles, intercom, security and alarm systems such as call boxes, cameras and
elevator alarms and performing all work in the apartment that can not be handled
by the building men.
Construction responsibilities include setting up and repairing all
sidewalks, fencing and bridges around the buildings, drainage systems (drywell
installation), concrete, interlocking bricks, glass blocks, ornamental walls;
performing minor waterproofing and caulking around the windows.
